What programs would you like to see in 2012? Is there a stitch, a technique, a subject or a speaker you would like to have included in next year's programs? Please, let me know via email, or phone, or the old-fashioned way with a word at the meeting.

MARCH - Let's Do the Twist- taught by Judith Richardson

Ndebele or Herringbone is a beadweaving stitch that you need to know! You can make a bracelet or a necklace. You decide the amount of beading that you want to do. This will be Ndebele (said like "end de belly:) with a definite twist. Simply you will be beadweaving and finding that your beadwork has a definite twist. This is a technique class not a project.

Please bring:
1. Seed beads of any size, as small as 15/0 or 11/0 or 8/0, in two colors. Color 2 will be the accent that really shows off the spiral of this technique.
2. Your favorite beading needle may be long or short, but it must pass through the bead.
3. A clasp will add the finishing touch toyour bracelet or necklace.
4. Beading thread Nymmo D; C-lon; Fireline, 4 or 6 lb., are all fine. Of course, if you use your husband's Fireline fishing thread, be prepared to explain yourself.

Prerequisites: You must like having fun with others. You must want to wear something "made by you." You must be able to count to six. You must be able to thread a needle. Finally, you must have a willingness to try new things.

If you are anxious about beadweaving, don't be! If you are uncertain about your level of commitment, but you would like to learn, then buy or borrow some cheap plastic beads and try it out. Nothing ventured is definitely an opportunity lost!

This bracelet can be made in two parts and attached to a watch face for a gorgeous watch band. The neclace is suitable with nothing, BUT you might add a pendant or another bead-woven item that has a bail. The necklace then becomes the stage for your other finishing jewelry touches.

 Satellite Happenings
Ginny Gilbertson - 2nd Vice President

You're invited to bring along your current stitching project and join the ladies of the satellite groups. There's often a small project being led by a chapter member to help us learn a new technique. There is always sharing of the latest magazines and books and updates on current guild activities. It's a great way to connect with other chapter members who love to stitch!
